Cynthia McKinney Accepts Green Party Nomination
July 15, 2008
Illinois will go to Obama. I’ll again vote my conscience, meaning, should Cynthia McKinney make the ballot, she’s got my vote. I hate the democrats’ corporate cowardice. I do indeed want change I can believe in. In addition to my membership in the Chicago Socialist Party, I have now also joined the Greens. Visit the Green Party, here.

It is too bad you cannot read German – in Austria, the big coalition crumbled last week, so elections are already scheduled for autumn, barely two years after the last/current government was constituted.
And one of Austria’s Green MPs started a crowd sourcing competition – actually, he really just asked people for their campaign poster ideas and posted two of his. It sweot the country, I participated as well. Maybe Cynthia should look into these things, too?
Here is the blog of the Green MP:

(my suggestion is “Nachtrag 4: Ein Walplakat (ja ohne h)” – the animal whale is called Wal in German, and election is Wahl – hence “Walplakat” – trying to evade the necessitry to come up with a slogan that can only be silly anyway – the German Greens really once had such a poster, and I married their poster idea with Twitter’s Failwhale)
Of course, Austria is a much easier country to sweep, with 8 million people in total and more than 2 living in the capital!

I wish I could read German! Maybe when I’m more settled (that is, I have a stable job), I’ll be able to attend to this deficiency. In the meantime, I’m indebted to you for sharing information!
Your failwhale/wahl/wal pun is thoroughly charming! Clever!!
I also like that the German MP has a blog. That seems like a good democratic thing for politicians to do. Speak with the people.
Best of luck to the Austrian Greens in the upcoming election! I hope you’ll post on the race, as time permits.
