I support the general strike on 9/11 and will behave accordingly. Please do the same.

    Re-appropriating the trauma, the trauma that the conservatives have tried to keep for themselves, I like that!

    Yeah, I think it’s a good day to just say no. No, we’ve had enough. So simple, really. 9/11 is not to be trotted out by the conservatives for further aggression.

    There are heinous commercials on tv in the US that begin with planes flying in to the towers and go on to show an amputee veteran who pleads that his sacrifice not be in vain–thus we should stay the course.

    The cynicism is almost unbelievable.

    I’d not thought of it that way, but you’re right, the strike is a re-appropriation of the trauma. To say no to capitalism for a day, and especially that day, is to feel whether anyone sees us or not, that some resistance, however modest, is still possible.

    “No” is becoming my favorite word.

    Parents in particular should support their children in sabotaging school.
