Studs Terkel

Studs Terkel has passed away. I was walking a picket line at the Congress Hotel in Chicago in 2004, when suddenly it sounded like a rift in time had opened up and a radio voice from the 1930s was emboldening the strikers. That was Studs Terkel. His voice will be sorely missed. The voices of all the ordinary folks he interviewed over a long career will endure.

Appreciation by John Nichols, of the Nation, is here.

Appreciation by Dennis Kucinich is here.
